Monk Parakeet

The monk parakeet, also known as the quaker parrot or parakeet, is one of the most popular pet birds in the United States.  Known to be primarily blue and green, it’s considered a small bird which lives up to 30 years.

The Parrotlet

Despite its small size, the Parrotlet makes it up in personality.  The tiny bird is known to be bold and assertive but also it is considered a quick learner.  Their primary colors are blue, green and yellow with a lifespan of about 20 years.

Yellow-Naped Amazon

The bird is known as a good talker almost to the point where it is believed it can contextualize human speech. Another drawback of the bird is as they grow older, they can be aggressive, even with their owners. This is seen more with the males and that is why if it is your first time owning a yellow-naped Amazon, a female is recommended.

Rainbow Lorikeet

They tend to be quite wild with their bird droppings with owners even lining their walls with plastic to protect them.  The good news is that they can be trained to drop in a specific spot.  Their diet consists of sugary nectars that can develop bacteria, so it is smart to clean their food cups constantly.
